Turkey Melt

I’ve been messing around with this turkey melt recipe for what seems like forever. I used to make something similar to this at one of the restaurants I worked in and have been trying to capture that taste ever since. There’s really not a whole lot to making this but I think the secret is in the sauce.

Description

A really easy and fast melt recipe perfect for any night of the week. I love bacon on this but if you want to cut a few calories you can leave it off and it still taste great. 


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 – Pitas
  • 1/2 – Small tomato
  • 6–8 – Slices of turkey
  • 4 slices – Bacon
  • 1 TB – Ranch dressing
  • 2 TB – Thousand island dressing
  • 1 tsp – Dijon mustard
  • 3/4 C – Shredded Cheddar cheese

 


Instructions

  • Mix the Thousand Island and Dijon in a small bowl and set aside
  • Cook bacon and set aside, keep warm
  • Heat the pitas up on low in a fry pan
  • Cook turkey until browned slightly in a separate pan
  • Separate turkey piles into 2, these will be your sandwiches
  • Add cheese on top of each sandwich and cover until cheese is melted
  • Layout 2 pieces of foil and place pitas onto a corner of each
  • Scoop each turkey pile and place onto pitas
  • Add 2 slices of bacon to each pita
  • Add tomatoes, Dijon mixture, and ranch to each pita
  • Grab the outer 2 corners of the foil and wrap each sandwich up
