I’ve been messing around with this turkey melt recipe for what seems like forever. I used to make something similar to this at one of the restaurants I worked in and have been trying to capture that taste ever since. There’s really not a whole lot to making this but I think the secret is in the sauce.
I start off with heating up two frying pans at the same time. This is not required but makes it easier. In the one pan I toss in the turkey and fry it up, in the other I just warm the pitas and get them a little crispy. Once the turkey is browned a bit separate into two piles, this will be your two sandwiches. Toss cheese on each and cover until the cheese is melted.
Pull out some foil, lay the pitas at the edge of each and scoop up each turkey pile and place onto the pitas. Now all you have to do is add the toppings. The pictures do not show some of the ingredients that I will be adding to the recipe but make sure you don’t forget them, I will add in the notes section also.
